The Price Link project is planned to unite the newly acquired Van Etten Building with the newly constructed Price Center for Genetic and Translational Medicine. The new "link" structure will physically allow the two buildings to plug in and participate in the continuing plan to integrate pedestrian circulation throughout the Albert Einstein College of Medicine campus.
The project also presents a special opportunity to visually enhance the closed, east end, stone clad wall of the adjoining outdoor courtyard plaza. The Design Alliance will explore the unique architectural challenges presented through an intelligent and responsible design process while responding sensitively to the existing outdoor space, landscaping, grade changes, aerial views and the specific caliber of the architectural vernacular expressed by the Price Center building design elements and details.
The architecture and engineering of this new structure will be contextual and sympathetic to the scale and material of its surround-ings while also exploring the use of both new and tried building technologies.
