Star Fitness USA Physical Fitness Center, Pelham, Bronx, NY

This is the first in a chain of Star Fitness Centers. An existing warehouse was converted for this purpose with a mezzanine installed to provide 2 levels for locating the exercise equipment. This flagship facility is required to provide the kind of atmosphere that promotes well-being as well as a place for social interaction as seen with the inclusion of a health juice bar.

The design commission provided for the construction of the mezzanine, installation of new finishes which are robust, attractive and resilient. The sound and light systems were also included in the design and specifications for the project.

The program also incorporated lounges to encourage client interaction and special events. New rooftop mechanical ventilation building systems were required and installed to provide for a healthy and comfortable environment for exercising.
