The Highline Ballroom entrance, facade and marquee design concept was developed within the context of Manhattan's hugely successful Meat Packing District and its nearby namesake the Highline park. Inspiration was also derived from past images of the city's elevated roadway structure know the West Side Highway.
The new marquee doorway access and entrance designs were proportionally detailed to incorporate the elements of the city's strong tradition in celebrating ornamentation in public works and civic architecture. The granite cobble stone pavers define the patrons arrival as an introduction to the entrance.
The diversity of performances held at the venue were to be symbolized by two figure ground wall murals on either side of the interior space.
