The Design Consultants provided designs the for interior and exterior of the building and its site commensurate with a period restoration of a Landmark Submission, that being circa 1910.
The architectural design in the renovation emulated the original building design of a Mediterranean Style Villa, as part of the "Gold Coast" expansion of homes for Long Island, N.Y. Themansion was previously owned by George M. Cohan, and was recently designated a Historic Landmark.
The scope of work included documentation of the 15,000 sq. ft. residence and survey for record purposes of the existing conditions, and the design with construction of interior period details, consisting of compounded back-banded moldings, casings and interior trim, with various species of rare woods for the marquetry and borders of the floors. Approximately 3,000 square feet of a building addition was permitted to be added to the existing structure.
