Schneider's Children's Hospital initiated the commission to create an ambulatory care facility for out patient examination and treatment. The designs consolidated two separate waiting areas for the administration of adolescent and pediatric care.
It was determined that by designing the reception / workstation countertop in a saw-tooth pattern it would be possible to increase to five workstations within the space that was once used for three. The reception / workstation area was designed to enhance patient privacy and meets HIPA regulations.
An Adolescent and Pediatric Medical Suite, consisting of phlebotomy, exam rooms, and offices and staff support were also reconfigured and later included in this commission.
